Where Life takes me

I am starting my planning to go to South Africa. South Africa! How is this possible. My husband mentioned it once. We were sitting in Skopje, Macedonia talking about we wanted to do next. I have this new way to describe my husband: I say "He's all over the map". I mean it in the truest sense. I contributed to it, I gave him a world map for Christmas. I'll take some of the blame here. He's been talking about places like Vietnam and India for 2 years. For my sake, we ended up in Costa Rica.
For my sake, we went to Denmark and Poland too. Ron is a great husband who supports my wishes to find and go see my unusually international family. In September we are moving to Seattle for a job, and it will put us a ferry ride away from where I grew up. I will be able to go see family on Vancouver Island, including my brother that I haven't seen since 2002. What is that, 15 years now?
I can't believe how much family I can squeeze in for 2017, in so many countries. That makes it 5 with family, and maybe 10 more just for the joy of travel. Even with the upcoming move I still have my eye on South Africa. When Ron first brought it up I thought of all things Africa, and all the dangers that make the news.
I started writing this one blog almost 2 weeks ago! Now I have 3 sleeps left in Samara, in Costa Rica. Then we fly to Las Vegas. Then we drive back to Cedar City in Utah. I pick up my car and we drive to California, then drive to Seattle where we will be for the next 6 months or longer. I've never been there, so wish me luck. We are going to see 7 out of our 9 kids for sure, 2 are still not confirmed. I love it here in Samara with my Mom, but I'm also totally excited to see everyone else. I'm also excited to get work and make more money for the next set of travels.
I can't believe we are really going, it's been an idea and then a plan, and now we have a date of arrival. Life will never be the same. My big plan for yesterday was to watch a full sunset on the beach, which can be hard depending on if I can get Ron to sit still, or the bugs, or having sunset right at dinner time every night all year long. Or the day before yesterday it was a lightening storm, so we went home. Last night we met up with 2 friends of ours and we just stood and talked and talked through the whole sunset. Looking up occasionally to watch the colors dance through the clouds. Good friends and time for great conversations - that is Pura Vida.
I'm so thankful for all that life has brought me, I feel blessed. One of my mottoes is that old saying: Because I have been given much, I too must give.
