Bloggedy blog blog. Pictures.
Buenas Dias. What a long day. Church, scooter ride home: dodging potholes and horse crap and stray dogs, wind burn on my face, and now I'm too pooped to pop. (What does that even mean??) I wrote something to myself in church, and shared it with a few friends. My buddy Liz says I should write it here. We were talking about prayer at church. Of which I only understood 5% of it, because it was really noisy today. I hate thinking that things are difficult. Why do things have to be difficult? I think they were talking about the hurricane, which devastated some parts of Costa Rica. I just thought about how difficult times prove God. And God proves they can become less difficult. And prayer proves God. And prayer helps things become less difficult. It's that whole theory of: Do you pray that your problems become smaller, or that your faith and strength become bigger? That you can become bigger. Because chances are, your problems won't become smaller. Except, if you have the right perspective, your problems can appear smaller. If you have the right attitude, you can make things easier by not adding to the problem. By not adding anger to anger. By not adding saying hurtful things to someone who says hurtful to you. By being a problem solver, and not a complainer. And so on. Oh, I could get a good list going here. But on to pictures.
Ok, so ignore the piece of cell phone in the picture. If I delete the phone, I lose part of the entire picture. Look instead at the island off in the distance. The point of this picture is that the beach was all peaceful and empty. But the view can change.
Because then you see a guy on a horse, bringing 2 horses with him. Then you see the young horse, that is just following his Mama, who is being led by the guy. I suppose he was literally "learning the ropes"? It was kind of cool. I swear, seeing these things is good for my health. It makes me smile. What is that in Spanish? Sonrisa, I think. Like, my smile is a sunrise. So maybe each smile is the start of a new experience, and a new chance at happiness.
I think spending a few weeks (or more) in a foreign country should be mandatory before the age of 25. See the other side of things. Heck, have a miserable time. At least then you would go back Home and appreciate things more. But what if all you needed was to take a step outside of your current Box? Time to reconsider. Time to See with different Eyes. It's good for your health. It's good for your future. Dang, I wanted to write more, but dinner is ready.
