Cat eared crazy


"Cat eared"?? What does that even mean? Well, I have some pictures to explain. This is what happens when you take a trip back to your home land (sounds cool, even if it's Canada) to see long lost friends from your crazier younger days. It's a direct result of wanting to recapture some of the sweet silliness of days gone by. I was thinking of getting matching tiaras, but when we came to that section of the store we both knew we had to get the cat ears. They really represent the memorable days of 1989. Man, we sat at her kitchen table that first night for 7 hours, catching up an telling old stories to my husband.
I didn't want to have the ears and then put them on a shelf! So I decided I would take pictures with them for my friend, to show that the fun lives on. Like on the ferry ride home. I was not giving up, and I was not giving in: I kept them in my purse after that.
A month later we were going to a restaurant and one of the waitresses had cat ears on. I thought "No way!" and I reached in my purse and pulled mine out. I almost wasted an opportunity to wear them. Then I thought, I really can't let this moment pass, I need to take a picture for posterity. Just kidding, I'm not going to lie to you, it was for my own personal great amusement.
Then I found a granddaughter who had cat ears, and then it was my December trend. Then I was getting my hair done and I said: how about some blue hair while I'm at it? I said hello to my Mom after a 4 month trip - with the blue hair and cat ears. She loved it.
Life is good! Live it up a little. Live it up a lot! Have some fun. Do things to make yourself smile. I visited my friend right before Thanksgiving, and I just got back to Samara in Costa Rica. Maybe tomorrow I can finish unpacking and tell you about the 8 day trip to get here, back at my Mom's house. Oh, I have to get the sand out of my toes too, it's very distracting while trying to write.

2 days of Nha Trang fun

I finally felt functional so we went on the long anticipated cable car ride from Nha Trang to Vinpearl island. It's like a Disneyland. Or so I'm told, I've never been there. This was one cool island. Their water park looked pretty extensive in an impressive kind of way. It's so horribly hot during the day, we avoided most of it by heading over around 4pm. The cable car ride was pretty amazing. The water was such a pretty color. A tall ride over the South China Sea on a fun adventure. The ride was 12 minutes long. That's about quadruple the time it took us to stand in line in the evening just to get into one. There were no lines on the way there, and we had a romantic ride by ourselves. On the way back there were 8 of us hovering over the dark water on our way back. We did one ride that went all over the property in a kind of bumper car on a track. Love will win.

   The more I write, the more I see the intricate psychology of writers. I love my writing community, and knowing that I belong.   What should I write about today? Isn't it supposed to be important to have something of value to say?? What has been my latest travels? That's always a favorite topic of mine. The last travel was the 7-8 hour drive from Apple Valley in California over to the coast and go north to Santa Barbara. Oh, it was such a nice day for a drive. We had the car packed perfectly. The ocean was beautiful. We saw some cool things like the city of Los Angeles, and a ship so big that in the distance Ron thought it was an island. I saw another gorgeous moon rise quickly followed by a sunset. The Joshua trees turned into weird shaped things that were filled in by a black permanent marker.
