Ferry magic


How do I write about my time in Canada? There are so many aspects to it.
There is the timeline. There is the tie in to my childhood and family. There is the scenery just on the ferry alone. There is the exploring and showing things to Ron.
Up early at 5am and the ferry takes over two hours. Let's start with that.
I took ten pictures just on the way there. If you want to see the magic, I am going to show you. It was cold, and it was gorgeous. I can't imagine the colors that would show when the sun shines.
The first set of pictures is before we left, waiting for the ferry to arrive. It was a long ride, over 2 hours. It was beautiful and peaceful. And cold. So many small islands full of trees. It was outstanding. I could have gone on the ferry there and back in one day, and it would have been a completely magical day! Every part of this 5 day journey was epic. These pictures are only going there. I need to decide if I want to add the pictures on the way back.
Everything was amazing, from how big the sea gulls were to the many changing colors of the water.





The Anacortes ferry from there to Sidney, BC about half an hour from Victoria.

At times it was very monochromatic. Still it's own kind of awesome. I was in awe.

Love will win.

   The more I write, the more I see the intricate psychology of writers. I love my writing community, and knowing that I belong.   What should I write about today? Isn't it supposed to be important to have something of value to say?? What has been my latest travels? That's always a favorite topic of mine. The last travel was the 7-8 hour drive from Apple Valley in California over to the coast and go north to Santa Barbara. Oh, it was such a nice day for a drive. We had the car packed perfectly. The ocean was beautiful. We saw some cool things like the city of Los Angeles, and a ship so big that in the distance Ron thought it was an island. I saw another gorgeous moon rise quickly followed by a sunset. The Joshua trees turned into weird shaped things that were filled in by a black permanent marker. Tuckered out by 9am??

  I'm dedicating this post to Rhiannon, who says one day she must come here. I got up, sat at the back porch and had some chamba chai, and jumped on my bike. It was just after 6am when we rolled out of the arched gate to the house, which was covered in flowering vines.   Getting up before 6am is wonderful. March is summer time here, and it gets so dang hot in the middle of the day! Everything is quieter and cooler at 6am. I used to whine and moan about getting up early, but I've never had such a great incentive before. Plus, I don't work swing shifts until midnight either. That factors in too.   We got to the beach and the had already come up. Pity, because it's amazing watching the sky light up, then the sun emerge from behind the mountains. It was low tide, which means tomorrow morning will be a good time to snorkel. It's going to be so much fun, I can't wait. The hardest part about snorkeling is reminding Ron that I like shallow water, not going half way...
