I held on and laughed

What do I write about? The outstanding things we've been seeing and doing every day? The way it all makes me feel? How much it all cost?
The days full of wonder and excitement? Let me tell you about one moment is an epic day. I was talking to my Mom (oh, the wonders of technology and satellites) while at a monumental Buddhist temple here on the island of Java called Borobudur. She said to me: I've ridden an elephant once in my life, if you get a chance, you should do it! I hung up and a few minutes later I saw this elephant in an empty field. I had my picture taken with him, so show how the bottom of the saddle is much taller than the top of my head.
In person is so amazing. You hear that elephants are big, and I get it, but the size of it's feet are even bigger than what I imagined. The footprint was so huge! The trunk was so long! Guess why that guy is standing in the picture with me? He's considerate. It's a male elephant with elephant sized male body parts. He was making the picture ok for small children.
I got up there and the first thing I thought was that the ground was very far away. I took a few pictures. We walked around the field. I noticed how long and course the hair on the elephant was, well spaced. I took a 19 second video of how cool it was when the ears flapped back and forth. I put my phone away, and we turned to head back. Ron had stepped out and had his camera out, so I threw my arms in the air. You know, woohoo, how awesome am I? At that moment someone let off a firecracker and the elephant got spooked and bolted. Those things can move when they have a reason. I grabbed the bar, and I grabbed my silly hat. The trainer in front of me was worried, and the elephant was headed towards Ron. It all happened so fast, in maybe one minute or two. The crazy thing is that I was just laughing the whole time. I have done a few things in the last year that have made me decide to trust. When you trust the whole world, not much is scary any more. They elephant people kept apologizing, and I was just laughing. The best part was that Ron actually got it on video.
Well, the best part is that I had no fear. I was on a rampaging elephant and I accepted it, and literally went along for ride.
Amazing drive there. Amazing gigantic Buddhist temple, elephant ride, mini temple and Luwak coffee shop with live civets out back. If you do a google search for luwak coffee, you will know what I mean. Coffee beans pooped out by mongoose/cats. Then a mini temple. Then a big Hindu complex of temples called Prambanan. All that and back at the hotel by 4pm.
Oh, and a new favorite fruit of all time called snake fruit, or salak.
More pictures and more details coming when sit still longer. Five days left in Yogyakarta, what is next? Inner-tubing through a cave is on my list! Each day is it it's own gift.
